Hobart is the capital city of the smallest state of Australia, Tasmania.
It is on the Derwent River to the south of the island.
It has a Mediterranean type of climate with warm Summers and cool wet Winters.
The city is overlooked by Mt. Wellington and Mt Nelson. These create magnificent
views of the city and river. As it has a relatively damp climate, the country-side
is very green and fruit and vegetables grow very well.
This is the view up to Mt. Wellington from Hampden Street, Battery Point, in Hobart.
